Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has announced the country's strong support for Venezuela’s efforts to restore ownership over assets and properties illegally confiscated by the United States.
Nasser Kanaani made the announcement on Tuesday in reaction to Washington's decision to illegally seize a Boeing 747 cargo plane belonging to Venezuela.
Kanaani described the seizure as illegitimate and a form of hijacking which represents US unilateralism and how it violated the United Nations charter and the international law.
Venezuela’s government has condemned the seizure of its plane by the US, calling it illegal and a clear act of theft.
